Membership

Any paid up member of BCT&C or their employees, family and guests may join the Society – currently there is no planned extra charge for this.

You do not need an official handicap to join and /or play as the Society is able to accommodate new / non players.

Management

The Society is co-ordinated by the Honorary Treasurer, Bill Perkins. Other posts are elected at the AGM, held annually in February.

Tim Allen, General Manager of Playgolf Bournemouth, PGA professional, Dorset Junior Team Coach and BCTC member has expressed a very strong desire to work with the Society to establish it as a premier organisation.

Golfing events are held at a local course on the third Wednesday of the month, from March through to October with a target cost of £35 to include a meal.

Courses played 2011

Courses played in 2011 included Iford, Crane Valley, Moors Valley, Bulbury woods, Canford and Burley. Regular players are invited to join the Chamber team at various Charity events thorough the summer (not necessarily the best players though).

Annual Charity Tournament

It is planned to hold an Annual Tournament. In 2011 the event was held on June 15th at Playgolf Iford (behind Tesco) with bacon roll and tea/coffee and 18 holes of golf. 18 teams took part and over £2,500 was raised for the President’s Charity for 2011 - Diverse Abilities Plus and Life Education Wessex.

In the evening there was a Pig Roast which was open to all BCTC members & friends with putting competitions etc for attendees.

Turkey Trot

In December 2011 membes of the Society dressed up as Santa Claus to play 18 holes. So successful was this that it is planned to repeat it each year but to ask players to garner sponsorship for their insane antics.
