Two local solicitors at a Bournemouth law firm are celebrating after both being nominated for Professional of the Year in the Dorset Venus Awards.
Family solicitor Lindsay Halliwell and Employment solicitor Amy Cousineau Massey both of Steele Raymond LLP in Bournemouth have been shortlisted for the prestigious awards.
The annual awards, which now enters its seventh year, is for the most highly qualified woman who excels in her professional occupation. Both Lindsay and Amy have been selected to be nominated for a chance to go on to the semi-final of the awards.
Lindsay Halliwell, an Associate Solicitor in the Family team, said: “To be nominated in the first place is overwhelming. I love helping people and regularly work with families who find themselves in very emotional and challenging situations. I’m very honoured and humbled by the nomination as I’m simply doing what I enjoy.”
Amy Cousineau Massey, solicitor and Head of Employment Law said: “News of being nominated came as a complete shock. I simply wasn’t expecting it. I’m so excited and proud to be nominated, particularly alongside a close friend and colleague in Lindsay.”
Peter Rolph, Managing Partner at Steele Raymond, said: “To have two of our solicitors nominated as professional of year in the awards is a remarkable achievement. It is a wonderful recognition of their dedication, hard work and talent in very different areas of the law and their total commitment to the best client service.”
Nominees will be narrowed down further to a pool of semi-finalists by judges from various local business sectors and results will be announced later in the year.
