Key West Bar & Grill on Bournemouth Pier has announced its first ‘inspiring sporting speaker’ event to take place in 2018. The popular venue will welcome renowned former rugby international player ‘David Flatman’. Also affectionately known as ‘Flats’, he will host a celebratory Gala dinner on Thursday 8th March in conjunction with Bournemouth Rugby Club who will be using the occasion to mark their 125th year.
Since announcing his retirement from professional rugby in June 2012, due to a career- ending injury, ‘Flats’ has established himself as a firm favourite in the corporate hospitality circuit, hosting and MC’ing events with a diverse mix of clients including Premiership Rugby and World Rugby.
Flats is often seen on BT Sport as a studio guest or co-commentator for their Premiership Rugby coverage as well as co-presenting Channel 5’s brand new Aviva Premiership Rugby highlights show every Sunday at 8pm with Mark Durden-Smith. He has also co-commentated for ITV for the Rugby World Cup Team and has been an integral part of their Six Nationals and Women’s Rugby and World Cup coverage.
Peter Collett, General Manager for the Pier advised, “We are thrilled to be welcoming David Flatman to our first ‘inspiring speakers’ event. We have an iconic location in Bournemouth which lends itself perfectly to inspirational and unique events. It’s brilliant to be working in partnership with Bournemouth Rugby Club who have a really strong presence in Bournemouth and are a hugely successful community Club.
James Croker, CEO at Bournemouth Rugby, said, “In Bournemouth Rugby’s 125th year, we are excited to be reaching out with all our Partners to engage in unique opportunities, none more so than our partnership with Bournemouth Pier. To host David in conjunction with Key West in a spectacular gala, is something we are ecstatic to be able to celebrate and bring to the local conurbation. We expect demand for tickets to be extremely high and anticipate that it will be a sell out event. We would urge anyone interested in attending the dinner to secure their tickets online.”
Tickets are priced at £65 per person, to include a 3 course dinner and wine on the tables.
