We offer a quarterly training session on Employment Law and HR issues. The sessions include a briefing from our employment specialists on a set topic and a practical discussion, working through hypothetical situations. In this session, Paul, Kate and Andrew will be looking at effective ways of managing both short and long term absence. People will be off sick from time to time and most employees do not like to let their employers and colleagues down. The majority of employers are sympathetic about their staff’s welfare, but absence because of sickness or another unexpected reason, can put your business in a tricky situation, particularly if you do not have the policies in place to deal with it. There are legal issues to take into account in ensuring that your staff are well, happy and working effectively.
