It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas at The Royal Arcade in Boscombe!

The art deco Royal Arcade is a warm, welcoming and festive place to be this Christmas so why not spend time checking out the unique and individual shops. No matter what the winter weather the Royal Arcade allows you to shop with an array of exclusive shops and businesses which includes beauty, books, science, collectables and coffee shops and when you need a break from shopping you can relax at the eateries and café’s inside too.

There are a host of FREE activities for children and families to make the most of Christmas as well as pop up stalls, shops and food vans serving up wintery goodies too.

Saturday 3rd December saw children gathered to write their personal letters to Santa at the pop up Christmas Post Office, which returns again on Saturday 9th December from 10am until 2pm and only costs you a stamp (if you want a letter sent back to the children) paper, pens and envelopes are all provided FREE which keeps the kids entertained and gets them excited about Christmas.  Shoppers were also offered FREE science lessons and were entertained and photographed with the Snow Queen Statue and The Good Fairy whilst they browsed the Arcade.

The FREE Christmas activities will continue in the Royal Arcade on Saturdays 3rd 10th and 17th December with musicians, buskers, free arts and crafts and entertainment, as well as more experiments with The Science Zone that children can take part in and don’t forget the unique Santasaurus experience.

The Town Crier will also be on hand every Saturday to promote Royal Arcade special offers and don’t forget to share your happy memories with your own selfies #RoyalArcadeChristmas!

Dangling from the roof of the Royal Arcade is the artwork, created by the children of Winton Primary, Jewell Academy, Avonwood Primary, St Thomas Garnet’s School and King’s Park Academy. The Royal Arcade presented schools with shapes, glitter, glue, paint and other materials, as well as REAL holly to produce creative Christmas shape designs.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth recently paid a visit to the Arcade to admire the children’s hard work. Said Mayor of Bournemouth, Cllr Eddie Coope, “All of the children have put in an amazing amount of effort, their artwork is wonderful and shows imagination and great creativity, as well as adding festive cheer to the Royal Arcade and is a great draw for Boscombe.”
